Interview #7 - Animalia TCG

Had an amazing interview that I had with the Animalia TCG. I am really happy to see that there are still creators who want to create a game that is based off of real life things, instead of the heavy fantasy games that we see a lot these days.

DESCRIBE YOUR GAME?

I wanted to create a game that was based on the real world. There are several wonderful things around us however seeing these new things is expensive and many are often unheard of. I wanted to show people our world through cards, I have always found joy in cards and collecting so I combined something I loved with something I believed into this amazing game.

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE GAME’S NAME?

The name is the name of the animal kingdom and once I found it I just knew it was perfect.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON YOUR GAME?

This game has been in progress for other a month now.

What makes your game different from other TCGs?

The difference for me that this game is based on real life in a way I have never seen which is why I chose to create it myself and hopefully with other artists eventually as well. Most games are fantasy and for many a sense of a new world and an escape, I want to give people the sense of calm familiarity in a new way that feels light and fun with new animals and things people have seen and never seen before.

WHAT IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES YOU HAD IN CREATING THIS GAME?

The biggest challenge is the fact this game can come off as underwhelming for many who don’t see animals as interesting or important. Funding is another issue however that ties in with what I said previous, but a Patreon will be launching soon!

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE CARD IN THE GAME?

My favorite card currently in. The eastern wolf but there’s one that is yet to made I am very excited for!

WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS FOR YOUR GAME?

My plans are to keep creating this game as both my source of income and source of helping. I’d like this game to reach further than other in a way many have not. To help animal populations and heal parts of earth to damaged to heal itself. I intend to continue this game is more animals and more experiences to players. Perhaps making a different game as well.

AS A CREATOR, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHERS WHO ARE TRYING TO PURSUE THEIR DREAMS?

To do what you believe the public wants, what you may consider the public does not include everyone and if you have an idea you think won’t work out there just may be a hidden group of people just waiting for you to bring them together.
