Greetings everyone, this month will start my end-of-the-month recap series that will be dropped at the end of every month going over mostly the Niche Indie/Home market of what new was dropped!!!
What future posts will look like from Indie Gamer Community News:
Featured Game - The chosen game will get a detailed breakdown of how the game plays, strategy tips, current events, and personal take on the game.
Monthly Recap - Will highlight current events or updates from a few Indie/Home games, game designers, content creators, artists, and any more that happened in the Indie/Home gaming community.
But I have to say that this month, there has been a lot that’s been popping off in the community this month. So this will be rather a big recap!
So starting things off we have Soul-Gates TCG dropped two new cards revealing the new “Blessed” mechanic. How this mechanic works is when you “Ascend” your Emperor to the field which is a free-play action, in which you are still able to play a unit from your hand. When your Emperor ascends to the battlefield it will trigger any unit Blessed ability that you either control or play to the battlefield during that same turn.
I love this because it gives players more incentive to play their Emperor, instead of using it as a defensive measure to keep their home base safe.
Now the two that dropped are Cydra, the Undying Huntress, and Zixing, the Purple Butterfly.
Staring with Cydra her Blessed ability is incredible in that when you play her she will deal 1 burn damage to all surrounding units. Now if recruited from the below she will deal 2 burn damage to all obstacles in the same column. That’s just so cool in my opinion, she also has a cool base attack you can self-inflict 3 damage to herself to gain +2 to your base attack of 3. Very aggro card, and for me being a fire player I love the idea of running an earth fire deck now.
Moving next to me is Zixing, whose Blessed ability is activated transforming into a once a once-a-turn trigger. When an allied unit with 3HP destroys a hostile card: Gain +1 Might; this unit gains +3 ATK until the end of the turn. This would make this card super beastly, especially with the base attack that allows it to heal itself half of the damage it deals out. Such a beastly card, but in my opinion not too broken compared to other cards that are already in the game.
Also love to add there will be some new “Zodiac” cards coming out that will feature all 12 of them. Cool concept from what I have seen, and I can’t wait for them to drop! If you haven’t checked out this game just yet, please do it’s one of my favorite games that are currently out!!!
Next up it looks like Zilla game designer of Boundless is giving his game a glow-up. He dropped a sneak peek of what was to come by dropping this comment.
“You’re not imagining things! Boundless is getting a large-scale visual update, paired alongside with some rules updates. It’s called “The Restoration”!
Here’s a sneak peek. More detailed information coming before the end of the year. *(updated card on the right)*” - Zilla
As much as I am a fan of the old framework setup, I do like what he has done with the new framework. He mentioned that he had been experiencing problems with the old frames for ages. Assets weren’t properly rendered and getting them to PDF quality level was a struggle. Also mentioning that the game has had a couple of inherent pain points as well that I want to address. So he decided to take on both tasks at once in a full-scale revamp.
Also speaking of Zilla has Encore as well in which Zenkai has filmed 2 in-depth tutorials on how to play the game. Check them out below!

Starlight has recently shown some new cards as well as well with the month prior dropping some cool looks at recent physical prints of the game. Nocturne gave a huge shout-out to fellow artists who helped bring these gorgeous cards to life.
Card - Artist
Fornax by Sheridan
Pikopop by Acy Faust
Eridanius by Ryusei Art
And Arias by Nocturne (me👻)
Nocturne also mentioned “I liked how Eridanius result a lot. I presented the creature and the style that I was looking for in the composition to Ryusei and he delivered what I was looking for exactly ✨, Eridanius is one of the most important in the lore ✨✨”
Mutology has dropped a sweet-looking “Demo Deck Bundle” giving you everything you need to play together with a friend. The kit comes with two 30-card decks, punch-out tokens, keyword cards, tokens, and advert cards. It was mentioned to be able to get your hands on one of these will be a prize set up for a tournament of sorts. Check out the video below!!!
DMajor game designer Janken Jutsu dropped a little surprise that he is working on another game called “Tic Tac Tokai”. I don't have full details of this game just a small teaser concept card, which so far I am enjoying how it looks so far. Very excited to see what is to come shortly.
Fatal Factions had some really cool updates this month. Starting off he introduced most likely one of the last guilds to be joining the custom guilds of Amoas - The Symaeth!
The Symaeth are magical beings - aen, aenwisps, gloun, ventars, even giants - who are either Aether incarnated into living beings or beings that live and breathe Aether. The focus of this guild is to either deplete an opponent's energy or share energies among themselves. Aether itself is how the origin of magic was able to come to be in the world of Amoas. Aether allows several different kinds of beings to interact with it to seemingly create bursts of fire or bolts of lightning out of thin air. Aether is triggered by neurological pulses and stimulation, and works much like a muscle - the more you use it, the stronger your aetheric capabilities are.
This is really cool how Brandon mixes lore into his card creations. He has full details on how Symaeth plays in his September update, he also mentioned that.
“In our continued effort to bring Guild Wars into a fully-realized state, there have been approximately 40 more cards that have been updated over the past month. The biggest focus has been on Twilighter to enable mechanic interactions between more mechanics beyond Darkness-related mechanics like Stealth or Nocturnal, or the sleepy Hypnoser mechanic. Twilighter tried to tie in too many different mechanics into one while relying on Darkness to be prevalent on all sides of the field, so now they have been updated to work better without sleep or Darkness. All card updates are live on the TTS cards or the Master Sheet, so feel free to check them out!” - Brandon
Eigendark just announced that their community has created 1363! Together with the 272 cards from the Starterset, that's 1635 cards in total! They also mentioned in comparison, Magic the Gathering had 302 cards at its beginning, Hearthstone had 382, Yugioh had 126, and Legends of Runeterra had 316!
What’s amazing about this game is the fact you can create your own cards, which is such a cool concept.
They also announced that you can now order your own custom cards and deck lists directly from the site! Just head to https://eigendark.com/gallery, click the cards you like, add to the basket, and checkout! You can also load a saved decklist into the basket for convenience. This custom shop has been a long time in the making, but I am proud to finally present a secure and robust solution to print on demand any cards you or others have created. ☺️
Berzerk also mentioned a few of his favorite cards that have been created.
“Erigon has made a lot of great cards, like the 10-armed wrestler or the slime that gradually merges with all your other units. 😉”
“Melle and Zinker (from THE Collective Card Game) have also come up with great designs. Sharkzooka is very stronk”
Synsouls just dropped their six Conductors Meet the first six Conductors! Each one has a unique 'encore' mechanic that can help the flow of your deck However, you'll have to skip gaining more Notes or the chance to draw an extra card, so consider your options carefully when ending your turn!
They also updated their TTS as well

Mixamon has been dropping a lot of new crazy characters all throughout this month, along with a new updated playmat. There are quite a few creations that I do like the design and creativity behind them a lot. I also like the simplicity behind the playmat allowing for it to grow in the future, and not overcomplicated. They have also dropped a few tutorial videos that better explain the game.
How To Play
Card Types
Units
Nightmare dropped their third set within in-game, and o have got to say it’s excellent. The third set “Scorched Earth” features pre-constructed decks for all 4 realms and booster packs available. Compared to their second set “Dark Machinations” which I am not a total fan of only having a couple of key cards to spice up my deck. Scratched Earth brings in dragons, and loads of great cards giving the game a setup for many new players to jump in to have fun with quite a bit set of combinations of deck builds to play with. That being said I have to rank the Base set as first place, followed closely by Scorched Earth as second, and with Dark Machinations in third. You can find this fun game in AppStore if you have an iPhone.
Arc just dropped their new UI on Steam which is completely free to play. Still getting into the game myself, but it’s loads of fun. The visuals look outstanding, the music is fun to listen to, and the game is simple to pick up in one or two matchups. I am still currently going through checking out everything the game has to offer and looking to play more matchups to gain more experience to unlock more features the game has.
Alpha Clash not only recently announced that they will drop their fourth set called “Genesis Returns” on November 8th, but they also are releasing a board game as well called “Cosmic Conquest” which is currently getting funded right now on GameFound. Now I haven’t dived too much into the board game itself, but I can say I have seen a lot of the cards dropped for the 4th set is looking good. You can find all the juicy information below.
Trouble in the TCG Kickstarter scene with Paragon dropping their $$$ Kickstarter to add some things to it, to make it better? Seems a little fishy to be honest, and I am not the only one who thinks like this. A lot was said by quite a few of the discord communities about this topic, which has shaken the niche market as a whole. Drop what you think below in the comments or join the IGG discord server to discuss it.

Lastly, my good friend Cyanh has discovered Card Game Shop Simulator! I had never heard of this either, until now. The game looks silly at first, and it is!!!! But never the less, it does look fun. I also agree with what Cyanh mentioned in the video: I like the idea that you were able to sell your own game within it. But I understand why this type of feature wasn't added. Check out the video below.

That all I have time for today, take time to check out the other post below from this month. A lot of good content from some amazing game designers and content creators.
